Ukraine Outlaws Porn

Viktor Yushchenko

Viktor Yushchenko

Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko has signed a bill into law making possession of pornography a criminal offense in the country.

The bill was passed by the Ukranian parliament, the Supreme Rada, on June 11. Human rights activists and members of the Ukrainian artistic community had asked the president to veto the law.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Justice says pornography can be kept only “for medical purposes,” and also warns that possession of a large number of identical images will be considered evidence of trading in pornography, which is also criminalized.

Punishment for possession of pornography will include fines and imprisonment for up to three years.

I think it is a great move. People become addicted to this as well. Rape and child molestation comes from this addiction. Make no mistake it IS an addiction and therefore a tool by which he seeks to enslave men and women by.
We should do this here in the USA. However I am sad to say instead of people drawing back from sins power over them which Christ came and gave His Blood to break the power of sin in the child of Almighty God’s life through Christ Jesus indwelling Spirit? I doubt it.They don’t SEE-They choose not to. I’m not judging–once I was also blind. Then I asked Him to come into my heart and save my soul. He did praise God. Everyday In Christ is a day stronger in the Lord to fight the temptations that come our way.
John 8:32 ” And you shall know the Truth-( Christ Jesus is the Truth)-and the Truth shall set you FREE.”

For Whom the Son sets free is free INDEED!.”

    Praise God!

While people waste time on praising the ridiculous regulations of a statist government abroad, we continue to loose our freedoms at home. There are much larger and worse issues in the world than pornography. When you encourage the State to regulate non harmful behavior such as pornography, you open the door to regulation of more important issues such as free speech, gun ownership, and civil liberties.
Go ahead and tilt at the windmills. However, when you find your health care and fuel rationed and your wealth redistributed, you will have no one to blame but yourself. Petty moral issues are destroying the ‘Conservative’ movement. I encourage you to wake up before it is too late.

I’m not sure a countrywide porn ban is what’s necessary to stop ch**d p**n, but I’m certainly not against efforts to eliminate it.

I’m predicting a war within the Ukraine due to sexual frustration though.

Susan, not all people follow your religion. Stick your religious fanaticism up your a$$ and accept that there are other beliefs besides yours. This isn’t about religion, it’s about the government taking away your basic right to determine what you can view in your home. This is a disturbing sign, because it indicates Ukraine is crossing into Orwell territory where the government can dictate every single aspect of your lives. Watch. Next they’ll outlaw certain kinds of sex. You won’t be able to go down your significant other and engage in other types of sex besides missionary. Soon you won’t be able to have sex at all unless it’s for procreation. By the time people realize what’s happening, the government will be controlling every aspect of your life. I don’t know whether this is due to religion or because the president of Ukraine is a lunatic, but imagine what would happen if the government did the same with religion.

Imagine you’re sitting reading the Bible in your home. Suddenly, the police break in and arrest you, because they had evidence you were reading the Bible and the president has passed a new law outlawing Christianity. You have no right to determine what you can view in your own home. This is the same thing. The fact that one is religion and this is porn makes no difference. The government is still dictating what you can and can’t see in your own private home. It’s only one step away from telling you what kind of sex you can have, or what kind of religion you can follow (if any).

And actually, rape and molestation come from NOT having an outlet for your sexual urges. That’s why priests molests little boys in Catholic churches, and why so many younger people are choosing not to become priests – because they know it’s not worth giving up your humanity to serve “the Lord”. If you look at a lot of the rapists and murderers who are notorious, a lot of them DON’T have an outlet for their sexual urges, and that’s why they become violent. A lot of the religious figureheads who sexually oppress people probably suffer from the same problem. Their religion prohibits sexual conduct, and because sexual conduct is such a major part of who we are (we’re all animals – admit it), they take out their frustrations on the rest of us.

These people need to get outraged and start a protest, and then boot this guy out of the presidential position, for focusing on banning porn instead of trying to fix the real issues of his countries. The fools in Parliament who came up with this ridiculous bill should also be raked over the coals socially, because this is a disgrace to human culture and freedom. This is fascism in its purest form, plain and simple.

You are all right from your perspectives, but I think that the state has a role to play in preventing the degradation of human beings. I checked a free porn site yesterday just to make sure that I was up on current community values and saw a lot of women being gagged and activities involving the end of the intestinal tract that would make a person who hasn’t been desensitized vomit. If you think that the state has an interest in preventing bestiality, sex with corpses , incest, etc., then you accept that there is a value line that shouldn’t be crossed. Then your protests just relate to where the line should be.
Though we all are entitled to an opinion, consider Ted Bundy’s opinion who responed without hesitation when asked why he got started killing women and replied without hesitation that it was porn.

Yet another monument to the ignorance of the human species; pornography is not a crime and those who view it, produce it or choose it as a career are not criminals. Those who would deny expression of human sexuality are the true criminals and should move to a convent or nunnery,

Can anyone tell me why repressive governments are reaching into the private lives of consenting adults when there are so many other issues that are truly important (such as the economy).

I believe it is the desire of Ukraine to be accepted by Western Europe; grasping onto these providential and Puritanical ways are certainly not milestones on the way to such acceptance.
