US Customs officials have stopped a 70-year-old grandmother from attempting to smuggle nearly a half pound of marijuana into the country.
Anna Maria Faris had the 222.9 grams of pot sealed in glassine envelopes, which she tucked between the pages of an issue of Der Spiegel. The German news magazine was then wrapped up in several layers of newspaper.
Despite her careful cloaking of the contraband, Customs officials could still smell the powerful pot. Faris claimed the magazines were “research” material for an article she was writing.
Because she is a legal permanent resident and not a U.S. citizen, Customs and Border Patrol placed a detainer on Faris. She will have her immigration status reviewed once the pot-smuggling charges have been heard in court.

great post – you belong in the genius column along with quartermain. i do research marijuanna – i see what a mess people make of thier lives under the influence of marijuanna every time i watch "the murry show" or "jerry springer". all pot heads.
just the facts as everyone knows them quatermain. you saying "marijuanna laws are bogus" is an opinion. but do me a favor – breath the the smoke deep, deep, deeply into your lungs. the facts will become very clear to you someday.
So you research marijuanna by watching the murry show and jerry springer? Many of those guests also drink & have very little impulse control. Their problems come not from marijuanna but from within themselves. They also can’t handle sex very well. Should we ban sex? So because there are irresponsible people we should let the nanny government into every aspect of our lives? What did America do before marijuanna laws? Lot better before than now.

having your life screwed up by "the lesser turmoil" caused by marijuanna still equals a screwed up life. i don't claim that drinking alcohol is harmless, but i thank you for admitting that marijuanna can contribute turmoil into ones' life.

If you want to gather your info sorely on marijuanna by watching the murry show and jerry springer, go ahead. Focus sorely on marijuanna and forget the bigger picture like over bearing micro management from the nanny state, and the fact we are misgoverned on more issues than the one you are obssessed with..
