Uighurs Find Home

Uighur are from the Xinjiang province.

Uighur are from the Xinjiang province.

Bermuda has accepted four of the 17 Chinese Uighurs who have been detained at Guantanamo Bay since 2001, and the North Pacific island nation of Palau has agreed to take the remaining thirteen.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang voiced his country’s opposition to the resettlement, telling reporters the United States should “stop handing over terrorist suspects to any third country, so as to expatriate them to China at an early date.”

The U.S. has said it feared the men would be executed if they were returned to China.

The Uighurs were captured by bounty hunters in 2001. Information from the Communist Chinese led American officials to believe the Uighurs had ties to Islamic terror group Al Queda. During their detainment in Guantanimo Bay, America allowed Chinese officials to interrogate the Uighurs.

Since being cleared of terrorism charges, America has found difficulty in finding countries to resettle the Uighurs. Albania took four of them in 2006, but most countries have refused accepting them out of fear of getting on the wrong side of the Chinese government, who still considers them to be terrorists. Canada was the latest nation to refuse taking in the Uighurs.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Abdul Nasser, one of the Uighur to find a home in Bermuda, said: “Growing up under communism we always dreamed of living in peace and working in free society like this one. Today you have let freedom ring.”

The Xinjiang province. The place the Tarim Basin can be found. The place Noah’s Flood too place.

“The location of the Garden of Eden was the Pamir Plateau which has four rivers flowing out of it as described in Genesis 2:10-14. Pamir, the site of Eden, lies east of Mesopotamia and Persia where ancient tradition (as well as Genesis 2:8) places it’s location. East of Eden lies the Tarim Basim, the original homeland of the Adamic race and location of the Great Flood of Genesis Chpt. 7.”
