Labour MP Chris Bryant
British Foreign Office minister Chris Bryant has called for the removal of the symbol for humanitarian group The Red Cross because it invokes images of The Crusades.
Bryant, who is from the Labour Party, made the call during an MP debate on whether a red diamond should be used instead of the red cross and crescent symbols currently used by the international body.
The Red Diamond carries its own religious significance, as it was adopted by The Red Cross in 2005 to accomodate Jewish demands for the logo, so the Red Star of David of the Israeli relief agency Magen David Adom could be placed.
The Rec Cross, Crescent, and Crystal
The founding Conference of the Red Cross Movement in 1863 adopted a red cross on a white background – the reverse of the Swiss flag – as the emblem of the voluntary medical personnel who assisted the wounded on the battlefield.
It was never intended to have any religious meaning and is thought to have been intended as a tribute to traditionally neutral Switzerland, which hosted the conference.
Most MPs during the debate voiced their opposition to the removal of the red cross, noting it would be an example of extreme political correctness. “No one has ever suggested to me that the Red Cross refers to the Crusades,” said Tory MP Philip Davies.

The Holy Land was defiled by Mohamadanists, Christian pilgrims were murdered and enslaved. The Mohamadans waged war against the West for a thousand years, and are doing it again!
