All’s not so well between America’s and France’s First Couples, the Obamas and Sarkozys, if not-so-subtle body language can indicate anything.
Things kicked off to a rotten start last Saturday, when the Obamas met the Sarkozys for D-Day commemorations:
Then, French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy got The Evil Eye from Michelle Obama, who was recently named Maxim’s 93rd hottest woman in the world, during the commemoration ceremony.
Bruni-Sarkozy’s Saturday snub was not the first time she publicly “dissed” Barrack. The former Italian supermodel opted out of kissing Obama on the cheek and coldly shook his hand instead when they first met in London back in early April.
While officially nobody is talking about what happened between the two couples, MiNa (Macedonian International News Agency) has reported on an increasing clash in differences of opinion between Obama and Sarkozy, so much so, the two couples refused to go out for a dinner together while in Paris.
The differences of opinion are multifold, the latest being whether Turkey should be admitted to the European Union. According to the French president, Turkey should be offered a special status within the EU, but not a full membership. Turkey is a predominantly-Muslim country, and Germany and France consider it ‘non-European’.
Obama on the other hand believes Turkey should be in the EU, as a member with full rights.
Nicholas is reportedly not very enthusiastic about Obama’s call to erradicate the world of nuclear weapons, either.
Things have started to warm over Sunday after Nicholas hosted Michelle and her daughters. Nicholas even sang Happy Birthday to Sasha Obama, who just turned 8.
Barack had already taken a flight home.

With all due respect, mr FO – as a European citizen I don’t give a rat’s bum what you think about Turkey and the EU.
It must be a real thorn in Michelle’s side that she couldn’t achieve with a racially biased masters thesis what Carla can by merely waking up each morning – the world drooling at her feet.
Do we really care?
