Scientists have discovered a highly-leathal virus in Africa that is similar in nature to Ebola.
The “Lujo” virus was named after Lusaka, Zambia and Johannesburg, South Africa, the cities where it was first identified. It is spread through contact with a patient’s body fluids, say scientists, and is not as easily spread a the flu.
It is however very deadly. Out of the five people who became infected with the virus, four have died, mostly within hours of showing symptoms of infection.
The patient who survived, a Johannesburg nurse, was given ribavinn, a drug given to Lassa victims. It is uncertain if ribavinn cured the nurse. Samples of from the deceased patients were taken and sent to research labs in America for study.

Is there not one research lab in Africa to study this, why did the samples have to be brought here? Isn’t swine flu enough for now?
