The ANC Youth League has blasted Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille as a “fake racist girl” for saying that South African president Jacob Zuma may have exposed his wives to HIV.
Zuma, a practicing polygamist who has three wives, was found not guilty several years ago in a case where he was accused of raping an HIV+ woman and then taking a shower afterward so he would not contract the fatal STD.
Zille, who is also premiere of South Africa’s Western Cape province, was quoted by The Sowetan newspaper as saying, “”Zuma is a self-confessed womaniser with deeply sexist views, who put all his wives at risk by having unprotected sex with an HIV-positive woman.”
The comments came as part of a blistering attack on Zuma for appointing an all-male cabinet.
The ANCYL said it was “disgusted” at Zille’s remarks, and threatened “militant action.” The Youth League also went on to say that “Zille has appointed an all-male Cabinet of useless people, the majority of whom are her boyfriends and concubines so that she can continue to sleep around with them, yet she claims to have the moral authority to question our President [sic].”
South Africa’s Young Communist League (YCL) also chimed in with, “Ms Helen Zille is a sick woman who needs help [sic].”
ANYCL general secretary Vuyiswa Tulelo played the same race card against Zille last month during the presidential campaign.
