A 10-page memo released by the Director of National Intelligence and the Central Intelligence Agency proves that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was one of the first briefed on Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EITs), and many other Democrat Party members were also briefed on their use.
The de-classified CIA document covers a 7-year history of briefings on EITs. Pelosi and then-Rep. Porter Goss (R-Fla.) were briefed on the interrogation tactics, including “EITs including the use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah,” on Sept. 4, 2001, one week before the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. At the time, Goss was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and Pelosi was a ranking chairman.
Pelosi has come under fire for her political grandstanding on the issue of EITs, and has repeatedly denied that she knew nothing about their use. Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan ran an unsuccessful campaign for her California congress seat last year.
West Virginia Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV, who was told on Feb. 4, 2003 that interrogations of Abu Zubaydah and Abd Al-Rahim Al-Nashiri were taped. Rockerfeller’s briefing also went into specific detailing of EIT techniques, including waterboarding.
California congresswoman Jane Harman, was briefed the following day and was similarly informed. Harman had become the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, when Pelosi moved on to become minority leader.
Other prominent Democrat Party members briefed on EITs include Bob Graham, Harry Reid, John Murtha, Evan Bayh, Russ Feingold, Diane Feinstein, Carl Levin, Barbara Mikulski. These Democrats were all briefed prior to mid-term elections on 11.16.06, when Enhanched Interrogation Techniques and the Iraq War became an issue propelling a Democrat takeover of the House and Senate.

This is further proof that the political class is out of touch with the reality of American experience. Because they have the right to go back and correct the Congressional Record to remove gaffs and inconvenient truths about statements they made, now Ms. Pelosi apparently thinks that she has the right to rewrite history that reflects unfavorably on her, (from the perspective of her loopy left-wing constituents). That’s bad enough, but she compounds the insanity by insisting on an alternate reality. Common Americans would call that lying.
Nancy Pelosi feminist imbecile, speaker of the house can be officially regarded as the Sergeant Shultz (Hogan’s Heroes) of the Congress and the Democratic party, by her bogus declaration of, “I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing!” in order to disavow herself from being the first one briefed on enhanced Interrogation techniques.
How could this idiot not have known these documents existed?
I don’t understand how any of the Democrats think they can make a stand on ignorance of this issue. Anyone who knows the laws KNEW that top congressional officials from both parties, and the ranking members on the intelligence committees of both houses, from both parties, are required by law to be briefed on matters of intelligence regularly!
Not only that, but as long as what they have been told remains classified information, they are required again, by law, to keep what they know confidential. They are briefed, and given ample opportunity to respond.
If memory serves me correctly, at the time of these briefings, the only concern expressed by congressional Democrats was “is that all? Can’t we be more aggressive?”

And apparently Pelosi and Obama forgot something: the CIA KILLS people… it’s in their job description. Did these two really think that these killers were going to take-one-for-the-team… when the team captain is a lying, incompetent, arrogant nebbish who has basically told them they need to kiss his ring? -please
