No Prayers From Obama On Prayer Day

obama_devilBarack Obama has slapped Christian-Americans by refusing to publicly observe the National Day of Prayer.

Former US President George W. Bush would hold an open-prayer ceremony to honor the holiday, which falls on May 7th.

But Obama will instead opt for a “private” observation of the event, and will issue a proclamation afterwards.

“We are disappointed in the lack of participation by the Obama administration,” Shirley Dobson, chairwoman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, said in a statement. “At this time in our country’s history, we would hope our president would recognize more fully the importance of prayer.”

This year’s theme is “Prayer… America’s Hope” and is based on Psalm 33:22: “May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”

Non-Christian groups praised Obama for his toning down of Christian observances.

Not sure this is a slap to Christian-American's unless he publicly observes another religions day. I think he's trying to show the separation of church and state.

  2. Johann says

    But he's a Christian, not a Muslim!

Wasn't that the Leftist Liberal Loser reply every time somebody dared to say something about Alli-bongo-tele-bama's religious background?

Where's the LLL now? Do we need to turn over some rocks, or will it cost us baiting you with rotten meat out the nearest sewer?

    It's not that we're scared – we just don't like the stench…

Wow, it's called separation of church and state. The bible even says not to pray in public. It's a farce. That's why it is a PERSONAL relationship with your savior. While I hold no religion of my own, I'm proud that Obama chose to celebrate this holiday quietly, and not forcing his religion on the rest of the country. And Johann, Muslims pray too, and very openly, but I'm sure when Obama prays, he prays to the same god you do. Unfortunately for him.

From o who stated – while on tour of other countries – state that America is no longer a Christian Country. Scary man.

Obama promised “hope and change,” but now we don’t even have a prayer!

He’s right. There is no God. It’s a farce. Prayer is nothing more than mumbliing to yourself. No one’s listening. Don’t waste your time.

    What a ridiculous article.

I wholeheartedly agree with Jersey McJones and Glen Sullivan.

    Slap in the face? Please.

  8. Joe from Jersey says

I’ll bet he is on board for a ramadon ceremony in October. Or as the Great Frank of Queens would say: rama-dama-ding dong!

  9. Jersey McJones says

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:6

Prior adminsitrations have done what Obama has done, quietly showing respect for prayer rather than making a show of it. It is sad that people are stupid enough to be impressed by the cynical, pandering, public show of prayer by men of such poor character as George Bush.

@ Glen Sullivan & Jersey McJones:

Don’t you just love people calling themselves Christians and extracting a verse or two from the Bible, totally out of context and then want to tell the rest of us that is how it should be.

The purpose of being told to pray in private places is for the development of your personal relationship with God. He never said that you aren’t allowed to pray or honor Him in public.

So what do people in churches do on a weekly basis, because that is certainly more public than private? Christians are also expressly instructed to GATHER in the name of the Lord.

    Matthew 18: 19-20
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

I very much doubt that any President honoring God once a year in public with Prayer Day is against the will of God.

Funny also how those same Christians telling us how and where to pray, can attack the character of somebody in the same breath.

And Glen, you’re 100% correct – Alli-bongo-tele-bama prays to his god, whilst I pray to God.

  11. Deb says

    Johan,

In Mathew 5 Jesus makes very clear that prayer is not to be done for the purpose of others watching. If Obama prayed at home with 2 or 3 other believers, outside of political spectacle, what would be the purpose?

While I don't doubt a president honoring a day of prayer would be out of the will of God, I do think it dishonors God to use a prayer meeting to court political support.

  12. Johann says

    God help us all…

That people can find fault with the fact that Bush publicly acknowledged God, but come up with reasons why Obama not doing it is in line with Christian beliefs.

Is this the same Obama who sat in the church of a hate-preaching rev Wright, whose claim to fame is "damn this and damn that", the same Obama who first said he never heard Wright utter any hateful remarks in 20 years, but then had to change his version of the "truth" when he realised everybody is aware of Wright's dismal attitude and remarks?

  13. Deb says

How do you know that he didn’t participate in prayer yesterday? Perhaps he did it in private…. as Jesus taught us to do…so his reward wouldn’t be simply the accolades of people who want to make even prayer a political issue.

  14. Glen Sullivan says

Speaking of hateful remarks, what exactly is “Alli-bongo-tele-bama”, and “LLL” and your rotten meat remark? You call yourself christian, yet you lower yourself to hate speech and schoolyard name calling. And for the record, I never said I was a christian, just an atheist who knows the bible very well.

  15. Johann says

    @ Glen:

Do yourself a favor and wake up. What is hateful about LLL – Leftist Liberal Losers? So calling somebody a loser is now hateful?

Or Alli-bongo-tele-bama? A wordplay on Alli-baba and the 40 thieves, all the tax dodgers Obama surrounds himself with, the chimp incident where a cartoonist was ripped apart by the biased leftist media, Obama’s use of teleprompters?

What the hell is hateful about that?

As for the remarks about leftist idiots being baited out of sewers – well, if their lack of moral standards, constant attack of anybody who dares to differ with their views, never-ending lies, sick attitudes and destruction caused by their total ignorance make make them fit only for a sewer, maybe you should take the state of affairs up with them. I am merely highlighting where they find themselves because of their own actions.

Glen, I don’t know what else to say to try and help you – at this point in time you make two bits of 2″ x 4″ look like a Cray supercomputer.

I don’t think it’s about him not being Christian or not believing in God. I think it’s just about him respecting the principle of the separation of church and state. There are many devout Christians who also deeply respect the First Amendment.

  17. MoniQue says

We have to remember whom we are praying to when we pray: the Lord God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. And we are told to pray in accordance with His will.

The only prayer for Obama that will be heard is for his salvation through repentance. He has the stain of murder on his hands, via abortion.

The only prayer for murderers and liars that will be heard is for their salvation through repentance.

    That’s it.

Anything else will not be heard.

And a Christian would not condone murdering babies. Period. End of story. So we can all stop pretending and living in LaLa Land. God is a holy God and it is complete fantasy to even entertain the idea of warm wishes for Obama or anyone else that promotes murder.

  18. MoniQue says

As for Bush Sr or Bush Jr, each one of their involvement with Bohemian Grove and the satanic rituals and pledge of secrecy made for Skull & Bones at Yale disqualifies him for salvation unless they both repent. Laying in a coffin naked, spitting on a cross, and taking an oath pledge to Lucifer just about does it to disqualify a person from entering the gates of heaven.

So even though George Bush said he was a Christian, just like Obama says he is, the fruits show otherwise.

Both the Bushes have never denounced their pledge of secrecy, and it will take that to totally denounce their allegiance they pledged to Lucifer. Opening up to Lucifer is a reception door only, no way out. Unless it is denounced and confessed out loud and the person repents and is made clean by Jesus Christ. George Bush publicly stated on national TV that he chooses to keep his oath of silence on Skull & Bones. His pledge of secrecy remains.

    Therefore so does his allegiance.

The pledge taken at Yale in Skull & Bones AND the participation at the mock ritual to demon god Molech are both damnable sins.

It don’t matter what religion either Obama or Bush claim. If they do not repent they are going to hell, period, end of story.

If you want to pray for them, pray for their salvation, anything else will never be heard by God.

praying wont bring america above the ashes where it stands.
