The British Home Office has placed conservative talk radio host Michael Savage on a list of people banned from entering the UK due to their “extreme views” which includes neo-nazis, Klansmen, and Jewish and Muslim terrorists.
Savage and the other 15 people listed on the so-called “name and shame” list have been banned from the UK since last October. A full list comprising 101 people who have “engaged in unacceptable behaviour” has been in existance since 2005. Six on the list will not be named as it would threaten national security. The other 79 may be exposed later.
British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith made the list public to show the types of thought and behavior not welcome in Britain. “I think it’s important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here, the fact that it’s a privilege to come and the sort of things that mean you won’t be welcome in this country,” said Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.
Since 2000, the British government has become eerily totalitarian against speech and thought it does not approve. “Hate Crime Raids” against those deemed politically-incorrect occur on a regular basis. The UK government’s “Operation Napkin” has police eating in restaruants, listening in on fellow diners for “hate speech.” In 2006, a man was arrested for calling a horse “gay” and a 14-year old girl was arrested for refusing to work with Asian students because they did not speak English.

The list of banned names includes the Reverend Fred Phelps and his daughter, Shirley Phelps. Their group, God Hates Fags, has become infamous for proclaiming America is being punished for it tolerance of homosexuality.
Also on the list are noted neo-nazi Erich Gliebe and former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Stephen “Don” Black, operator of the White Nationalist website Stormfront.org. Jewish extremist Mike Guzovsky, Hamas MP Yunis Al-Astal, two Russian skinhead gang leaders, and several Islamist activists and terrorists round out the list.
Savage, whose real name is Michael Weiner, told World Net Daily that he intends to seek “top First Amendment attorneys” to represent him “in a major international case.”
“I want to sue the British home secretary for defamation,” Savage said, “for linking me up with murderers because of my opinions, my writings, my speaking – none of which have advocated any violence, ever.”
Savage has not been in the UK for 20 years and has no intention of visiting.

However, Savage is no friend of free speech. Despite Savage painting himself as a champion of free speech, he is anything but. CAIR went on a legal assault on Savage for the things he said about Muslims on his show. CAIR used those snipets from his show as proof that Savage was demeaning Muslims. Savage was merely defending himself.

Good. Kudos to the UK! Savage (real name, “Whinier” or “Weaner”) deserves this public shaming. He has advocated hatred and implicit violence against minorities, liberals, women, Latinos, Arabs, blacks and gays for years. Now, when he’s being called out for it, his response is to threaten a lawsuit; quite ironic, given his hatred of lawyers and his claims that “frivolous lawsuits” are a major problem in today’s society.

A country is entitled to ban anyone it wishes- no reason is needed. Immigration officers can turn away anyone. Weiner has no automatic right to entry- a fact that seems to be missing in a lot of discussions about this.

The United States of America grants us the opportunity to say what we feel and broadcast our beliefs. Unfortunately we have to extend this right to citizens like Michael Savage. Michael Savage has flashed his education like a badge to justify his idiotically sad ideas. I have the same level of education and have been very fortunate in life. I was not born that way I simply made this happen for myself and my family. I applaud Dr. Savage for his achievements and stand up for his right to freedom of speech. I am simply expressing my right to the same freedom. For the thousands of Americans who stand behind Dr. Savage, my heart goes out to you, you will never be allowed a moment to speak to your idol, for he loves to hear his voice to much to let you speak. Dr. Savage is neither a leader nor anyone who should ever be granted anything more than, the creator of good radio drama. His show is simply radios version of the overdramatized and overacted reality shows we so love today. I dont care if you dont like Savage the fact is the guy does not promote violence in any way. What he does is say to fight against radical islam but has had many muslims on the show and is not against moderate muslims in anyway. He is also on record as saying (time and time again) that what people do in their bedrooms is their business he just doesnt want homosexuality becoming public policy (ie same sex marriage). yes this last view rubs many the wrong way but to ban him from the UK does not shame him in any way it shames the brit secretary.
