South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority has announced it will drop its corruption case against ANC president Jacob Zuma.
The charges include a long-ranging list of corruption, money laundering and fraud based on a mult-billion-dollar arms deal.
Acting prosecutions head Mokotedi Mpshe said the NPA it was the “most difficult” decision he has had to take.
“Neither possible nor desirable for the NPA to continue with the prosecution of Mr Zuma. It would be unfair as well as unjust to continue with the prosecution,” Mpshe said.
