South Africa Bans Dalai Lama

dali-lamaThe South African government has banned exiled Tibetan leader Dalai Lama from entering the country due to pressure from the Chinese government.

The Dali Lama was scheduled to attend a peace conference in South Africa on March 27th, which included Norway’s Nobel Peace Committee and fellow Nobel Peace Prize laureates Martti Ahtisaari, FW de Klerk, and Desmond Tutu.

Tutu has reportedly threatened to boycott the conference in protest of the Dali Lama’s banning.

“We believe that the barring of his holiness to attend the peace conference makes a mockery of the intentions of this conference,”  said Tibetian activist group Friends of Tibet.

Primeminister Stephen Harper of Canada gave the D. Lama Canadian citizenship. The only one with the guts. God bless him.

I don't see anything wrong with it, the world cup will be the biggest international event for SA in God knows how long and how long to come. Dalai Llama is just an ex-slave owner attention junkie using his celebrity status to keep living his good life. I think the SA government just learned from the violence the Dalai Lama and his followers were trying to instigate last year during the Olympics. All power to South Africa.

The Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, which he deserved far more than de Klerk did. As for the "violence"

of the Dalai Lama, what about the brutal oppression of the Tibetan people and their culture? Do you know anything about

20th century history? Is is especially ironic that this vile gesture would come from South Africa, which greatly benefited from the philosophy of people like the Dalai Lama. Boycott the 2010 World Cup.

Hey Mike I don't know what you have been smoking but I suggest you stay away from it.

Or maybe you are just craving some attention.
