Andre Fourie
Former National Party (NP) minister Andre Fourie has told a Pretoria conference on South Africa’s future that the country’s constitution does not do enough to protect the country’s ethnic minorities, including Afrikaaners.
Fourie told the conference that one in five Afrikaners have already left the country since 1994, and those remaining have an uncertain view on their role in South Africa’s future. “People feel that they are pushed aside, that they are not wanted, and that they are foreigners in their own country.” Fourie says the government must do more to make Afrikaaners feel that they are part of the “new” South Africa.
Another former minister, Tertius Delport, told the conference that Afrikaaners need to stand up for themselves and make a rightful place in country. “Many people have to apologise, we have. We have made a contribution, a tremendous contribution up till now – until pre 1994, it is time we make that contribution again,” he said.

maybe thats just the ideas of one MAN??? white or black who cares, we are all the same. The problem is for the younger generations – they still see a divide because people still speak of past times. yes we must remember but maybe we should stop blaming other people?????????????? Its because of people who still think like you and him that SA is still divided in terms of wealth with only a few people gaining a better standard of life. Stop being small minded you idiot and get with the program!
