The wife of Morgan Tsvangirai, Susan was killed in a car crash that also severely injured the Zimbabwean Prime Minister with head and neck injuries.

Tsvangirai became Prime Minister last month in a power-sharing deal the ended nearly a year of persecution by Marxist Dictator Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF. General elections in April 2008 saw third-party monitors award Tsvangirai’s Movement For Democratic Change (MDC) power for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Speculation indicates that Mugabe or one of his Zanu-PF henchmen may have been behind the crash. “There will undoubtedly be suspicions about the cause of the crash and whether there was foul play involved,” said Jennifer Cooke, director of the Africa Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.

“At a time when there needs to be confidence-building measures, this incident potentially raises suspicions and undermines the potential for greater cohesion of the government. (There is) huge potential for the agreement to be manipulated by Mugabe.”

Robert Mugabe has reportedly visited Tsvangirai in hospital.

Tsvangirai and Susan  were married in 1978. They have six children.

    It was absolutely an accident.

Bob probably brought him some arsenic laced chicken.

Get a transfer to South Africa, Morgan. You are not safe in a Zim hospital! Maybe not safe in SA either, but at least better for the time being.

I think it is time that Bob is taken out…

Harrari traffic? It could have been an accident. I’ll bet the locals stripped the scene before the ambulance got there.

I don’t care how high up the ladder you go… It’s still ghetto behavior. Next there will be drive-by(s) on horseback.

And I don’t know about “foul play”, but I’ll bet there was a foul smell involved.

Killing off the competition and attacking whitey. At least Mugabe doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. He’s slime, and he doesn’t care who knows it.

  6. ETB says

I am dubious as to whether it was deliberate. It would take pinpoint precision for a car to ram another car on a busy highway when both cars are coming in opposite directions and would also be a possible suicide mission for the perpetrating driver. It would take radio communication from the ground and from the air. The former Rhodissia could pull it off but hairlip Mugabe?
