The NY Post has issued an apology of sorts to those who get offended by an editorial cartoon it published earlier this week linking a rampaging chimp to the Stimulus Bill. The apology was not extended to race hustlers and poverty pimps who whined about the cartoon and started all the controversy in the first place.
Here is the apology in full:
Wednesday’s Page Six cartoon – caricaturing Monday’s police shooting of a chimpanzee in Connecticut – has created considerable controversy.
It shows two police officers standing over the chimp’s body: “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill,” one officer says.
It was meant to mock an ineptly written federal stimulus bill.
Period.
But it has been taken as something else – as a depiction of President Obama, as a thinly veiled expression of racism.
This most certainly was not its intent; to those who were offended by the image, we apologize.
However, there are some in the media and in public life who have had differences with The Post in the past – and they see the incident as an opportunity for payback.
To them, no apology is due.
Sometimes a cartoon is just a cartoon – even as the opportunists seek to make it something else.
My own perspective: I don’t think the NY Post should have apologized period, but this one is kinda ok. Al Sharpton’s whining on and on about this got a lot of well-meaning people upset, but the left-leaning “mainstream media” amplified his whine to a blinding shrill, so it’s kinda not people’s fault that they’re so stupid and blinded by their own racial hatred of “racist whites” and allegiance to race hustlers that they can’t objectively analyze a situation for what it is.

Screw The Post and screw Sharpton. I still think they worked together in an effort to gain some attention. I’d be willing to bet The Post will have record sales and Sharpton will get a piece of the action when it’s all over. Friggin’ scam artist.
Sharkton is one happy nappy headed ho up until the media buzz fades, then he will for something to scream about
I think it’s ridiculous to have issued an apology at all. I seem to recall seeing a cartoon with George W. looking like a monkey – and no one said a word then. In fact over the last 8 years Bush was the butt of many jokes as well as called a liar, murderer, etc. And yet…….no one seems to be “offended”…gimme a break.
The fact that Sharkton thought the chimp was a negro says alot about him.
The people that claim to have been offended over this cartoon were the same people that thought it was funny of the comic strip by Ted Rall calling Condi Rice a “House NIgga”. These same people also called Bush for 8 years a “CHIMP”. What a bunch of hypocrites.
You didn’t see thousands of white people screaming “rascist” when Johnny Weissmuller played the part of Tarzan in the movie called Tarzan the Ape Man. If it’s OK to refer to a white man as an ape, then let’s see more “apeish” cartoons about Obama.
Here’s another thing, Hollywood’s all over this guy. When he becomes a political hack, Hollywood could give him another job, this time as “Cheeta”, Tarzan’s chimp, in any remake of the old classic. They wouldn’t even have to provide him with a monkey suit, and what about those ears, the guys a walk up start.
Pump him full of steroids and he could star as Bigfoot, or even King Kong, and still saving Hollywood a fortune on costume expenses.
