A Brazilian woman who claimed to have miscarried after being attacked by racist skinheads in Switzerland was probably not pregnant and faked the attack, police investigators now say.
26-year old Paula Oliveira claimed she was attacked after she spoke Portuguese at a Zurich train station. She also claimed her attackers repeatedly carved the initials of Switzerland’s conservative political party SVP onto her legs and abdomen, causing her to miscarry twins.
The fake “hate crime” caused shock in both Switzerland and Oliveira’s native Brazil, where the government there took steps to insure a swift investigation was made on the attack.
However, medical experts determined Oliveira was not pregnant, and that the more than 100 cuts to her torso and legs were self-inflicted. “Any experienced forensic doctor would not hesitate to assume that this was a case of self-infliction,” said Zurich University forensic medicine chief Walter Baer.
The case is reminiscent of Ashley Todd, a 20-year old volunteer to the McCain campaign who faked a “hate crime” and carved the letter “B” into the side of her face during the US presidential campaign.
Last November, 18-year old German anti-racist activst “Rebecca K” faked a “hate crime” attack after she carved swastikas onto her body and blamed it on skinheads.
The SVP, or Schweizerische Volkspartei, is constantly villified in the European mainstream media as a “far-right” group for its traditionalist, conservative and nationalist views. Despite this, the political party has served for decades in the Swiss coalition government and garnered 29% of the vote in the last general election there. SVP spokesman Oskar Freysinger condemned the attack when it was first reported.
Police have not determined if the attack was part of a Leftist campaign to smear the SVP.

I don’t think its a hoax – the swiss government might have tortured her or offered money to say it was a lie. No woman can inflict so many wounds on herself – sorry the Swiss are lying – this woman is not. There is no credible source like CNN or BBC that has confirmed it was a hoax, only swiss websites are calling it a hoax…. they are lying to save their reputation and economy built on tourism… after reading this so many people would not want to go to switzerland.
