The cult of personality surrounding Barack Obama reared its ugly head Monday when a woman was roundly booed for merely asking Obama a tough question.
“You’ve come to our county and asked us to trust you, but those that you have appointed to your Cabinet are not trustworthy and can’t handle their own budget and taxes,” asked a woman named Tara during a town hall meeting event in Elkhart, Indiana.
“No, no, this is a legitimate question,” said Obama, who was there to garner support for his much-derided “stimulus package”. Obama said he has taken responsibility for an image that some of his staff don’t have to play by the same rules everyone else has to.
Obama excused his mistakes by saying, “If you’re not going to appoint anybody who’s ever made a mistake in your life, then you’re not going to have anybody taking your jobs.”

Please that lady was just trying to stir the waters. “You come into our country” are you serious, I would be pissed if someone asked me that question when I am an american.
And before people start to spout off that he is from cambodia or where ever the conspirity theory says he is from if that was a serious possibility you can be sure that the Dems would have exploited the piss out of it to not lose to him.
And after the garbage remark about coming into ‘our country’ he didn’t take the bait and answered her question. Did he screw up and deserve to be chastised for it, of course.
But to assume that people didn’t pick up on her stupid dig and boo her for it but for the ‘tough question’ that he has been asked and answered in front of millions of people on multiple occasions is just as stupid as his origional mistake.

The complaint is not about Obama (just as it is not about his ‘COUNTRY’), the complaint is about the sycophantic audience that wishes to stifle free criticism – a point which Obama rightly countered.

It was a good question and Obama gave a reasonable answer (a “sorry for the slip up” wousl have been nice, but this is politics) and defended the principle. It was the audience that was bad.
The main problem is that she didn’t ask him a real question. That’s why you’re hearing about this from the MSM: because it wasn’t a real question, he was able to deflect it with ease.
A good question would have made him look bad and wouldn’t have allowed him to answer with the same old boilerplate.

ANY President that takes office and immediately begins to blame the former President for things he is mishandling has no integrity. He ran on “NO MORE POLITICS AS USUAL” if you gave him your vote. He hasn’t been in office even a month and it has been POLITCS AS USUAL. Obama will blame Bush for every promise (during the campaign) he has no intention of keeping. Obama is a manipulator. He gives speeches as if he is in court debating. Obama says things like: “Now, they’re gonna say this is like FDR and that it never worked” and “they’re gonna try to convince you that government isn’t the answer”… and his KoolAid drinkers get a glazed looked over their faces and think it is the smartest thing they ever heard. When in fact, he is manipulating those people. He tries to beat his critics to the punch and just say what he knows they are going to say because its true. Obama HAS NEVER said anything, anyone has said about him and his policies was/is not true. Did you ever notice that? He tells you “so n so is going to say this” . BUT HE NEVER DENIES IT NOT BEING TRUE. He words it in a way that his “followers” assume it isn’t true! He manipultes them.
I hope the all of us rightwingers on this board and in the media keep going after Obama just like we have been in the last few weeks – give him hell. Oppose everything that he is for – because if he is for it, then we must be against it. This joint opposition to the guy from Kenya will make us more united. And we will lose all the elections from now on in a united fashion.

Ok guys, it seems that there is a lot of confusion around Mr. Barack Obama. I am not a republican, democrat, or independant. I believe that the whole system is rigged, and it doesn’t really matter WHO we vote for, the fact that people buy into the bull of the system is evidence enough that we will always go down a road that we will eventually find out that we don’t want to be on. Like it or not. It’s like pleading guilty or not guilty to a “crime” that’s not really against the law at all. How can one be asked to prove their innocence or guilt when they have legally done nothing wrong. This is just a metaphor of course, but the principle holds true all the same. If you play a “game” in which you are told “the rules”, and you believe them to be true when in fact they are not, you will most likely never win the “game”. Correct? The “game” here is politics. We are bullied into playing by “the rules”, and yet the politicians, among others with “controlling interests” in the game don’t play by them. If you purchase a computer, it will go to India.
If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to South East Asia.
If you buy a car, it will go to Japan or Germany.
If you purchase useless crap, it will go to Taiwan .
And none of it will help your economy (unless you live in the abovementioned countries).

And yes I admit that I read it and did immediatly jump the gun thinking that it was another attempt to make B.O. out to be a immegrant.
What he is trying to do though is the right thing in terms of how a good amount of economists think.
If we do the reganomics we essentially give more money to the top money makers since they can use that money the way most will in reinvestment. So they will start up new businesses, invest in other businesses, or expand current workforce. That bring people back to work.
The problem is that the businesses are no longer doing that. They are now taking that money made and reinvesting more and more over seas. Plus most of the nation is getting in ruin because we have not been spending what we need to on our resources like Schools, Roads, ect.
So the other way is Keynesian Economics which is what B.O. is trying to instill. There we have the government take the same amount of money that was saved from the removal of the tax cuts and pay that to our nations businesses to buy there services.
So companies can now intunr rehire a workforce and do large jobs across the nation. Improving schools pays to manufactuers like Hobart for fridges and whatnot, you have local carpenters, masons, electricions, plumbers, ect from the communities working.
Now that they have money they can inturn pay their bills and hire more workforce again from the community. And what ever moeny is left over usually is being spent within the cities and that inturn gives boosts to the local economy.
The Keynsian way is much more directed at smaller businesses on the state levels.
Either way would most likely work to get us out of the deep recession that we are in but only one of those will improve a infastructer that is essentially crumbling.
