Tax Woes Plague Al Franken

Minnesota senatorial candidate Al Franken has become the latest in a long string of Democrat Party politicians to be caught up in an unpaid tax scandal.

Franken’s problems began last April, when the California Tax Franchise Board revealed that the Democrat owed the state $5,800 in taxes, fines, and penalties from not filing tax returns in 2003 through 2007. Franken admitted at the time to owing more than $50,000 in back taxes to 17 states, blaming his accountant for the error.

The accountant, Allen Chanzis, says he has not verified Franken’s account and claims he was told by Franken to not comment on the matter to reporters.

Additionally, the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board fined Alan Franken Inc., with a $25,000 penalty back in March. Franken’s corporation failed to carry worker’s compensation insurance for his New York employees for nearly three years.

It's amazing that Obamas cabinet is made up of free tax dodgers, while here in Tennessee this morning, a UPS piolet was sentenced to two years in prison for tax evasion. Go figure!

    And the news would be?

  3. Troy says

Yeah this is utter insanity: posting something that happened in April. "It started back in April… plus something happened in March."

Well don't you mean it started in March then, genius?

Besides, what you DON'T say is how anything new happened since then, which you CAN'T because nothing has. It was resolved long ago.

You dredge this up nearly a year later, and months after it was not even fit for Coleman attack ad fodder, and then act like something new has happened. It's Feb 9th. What happened to make Al Franken 'the latest in a long line?'

Your whole timeframe goes backwards into the past.

"Today, Al Franken is latest in a line of people that recently did something! It started in April of last year and finished in March of last year!"

Time goes – Past -> Present -> Future. Figure this out and you will learn how to talk about events, give headlines, and write articles without manipulating the very FABRIC of the universe to FABRICATE fake news items.

    #Troy

Picky picky picky. Typical liberal apologist demanding that time move in a linear fashion. Next you'll object to comments about WMD (weapons of mass deception) which Iraq pretended to have to trick us into a war we never wanted. Here we have news professionals so it is news when they say it is. Get over yourself.

Give the democrats credit. They really are diverse. They have both tax cheats and non-tax cheats alike in the party.

Ah okay, republicans have their share of tax cheaters also. It's just not a democrat thing.

Franken is another Democrat tax cheat.

    Go, Doug Coleman.

It seems that with the Dopeycrats you'll have to start with basic reading lessons…

@ Troy: Get yourself a thesaurus and look up the meaning of the word additionally. Then you can show the rest of us where its definition has anything to do with chronological order. OK Troy, first look up the word chronological…

Here's another idea for you, Troy. The fact that something happened some time ago doesn't mean it was disclosed to the public at the same time.

“The fact that something happened some time ago doesn’t mean it was disclosed to the public at the same time”

Excellent point, except of course for the fact that in this case, it was reported long ago, like April 2008 http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/senate/17812549.html and was very publicly discussed during the MN senate race.
But please, keep up the good fight and do not let things like this get you down.
    Facts/smacts.

Johann, This was all disclosed to the public a long time ago. Even us up here in Alaska heard about it. We also heard about it when Al Franken took care of the matter months ago. Nitpicking doesn’t make Troy’s argument any less valid.

Just hilarious the way you took the word “Democrats” and inserted the word “dopey” to come up with “Dopeycrats”. Now that’s humor and keen political insight. Do you write professionally?

  12. Schwartz says

Tell you something funny and that Norm Coleman is still running campaign ads in Minnesota. Despite the fact voting ended over 2 months ago.

We all know what he wants, a new election in Minnesota, something that grossly violates the Constitution. Like that matters with the far left and far right though.

Coleman lost. Get over it, Minnesota has elected a comedian to the Senate. The same state that elected Jesse Ventura as governor.

Al Fanken is a sick, degenerate sadist! This sack of perverted twisted shit, did a “skit” on SNL playing a man with a terminal brain tumor. Perhaps this psycho will have us rolling in the aisles playing Ted KKKennedy with brain cancer! Can you imagine this asshole on the Senate floor? I mean, he’ll be in good company with all the other Democraps who are just as sick in their own way! I thought that if he can steal the election he’ll be an embarressment to the Democraps, but then again looking at who’s in the White House, and the Congress, he won’t be noticed!

Yes, that source you cited has a real global reach now, hasn’t it?

  15. Dr. Phil says

The countenance on this jesters face tells you he is a distorted mutation. He regards life as a vaudeville show; he does what pleases his warped logic. This makes him an outstanding candidate for the Senate…. On Looney Island !
