No Radios In New US Cars

At least 8 new cars geared toward the lower end of US car market are going to be sold without terrestrial radios, cracking open the most lucrative American radio market to such listening alternatives as the iPod and satellite radio.

The new low-end cars include the Nissan Altima 2.5, Nissan Versa 1.6 Base and and the Honda Civic DX. The stripped-down Nissan Versa, which will go for around $10,685, will not include power windows, ABS brakes, or even AC.

Other models sold withour a radio or CD player include the Chevrolet Aveo LS, Toyota Yaris two-door liftback, the Pontiac Solstice and Ford F-150 XL regular cab truck.
