American-controlled drones have struck targets in north Pakistan, giving a clear indication of where the new Obama administration will take The War On Terror.
The attacks are believed to have killed 18 people associated with the terrorist group Al Queda, including suspected Taliban leader, Khalil Khan Dawarand.
The area of Pakistan the attacks took place is so isolated that tribes control the region, not the Pakistani government, which is believed to have given permission for the attacks as long as US ground troops do not enter the region.
Pakistani ambassador Husain Haqqani said his government hopes the Obama administration will “hear us out.”
“Pakistan hopes that Obama will be more patient while dealing with Pakistan,” Haqqani told Geo TV. “We will review all options if Obama does not adopt a positive policy towards us.”
