Kenyans Expect Food And Jobs From “Jesus” Obama

While much was made during the US Presidential election about an African-American woman who believes Obama will help pay for her mortgage, it seems that more than a few Africans in Kenya believe Obama will furnish them with jobs, homes, and food to eat.

One Kenyan watching Obama’s inaugration Tuesday excitedly spilled his pint of Guiness and proclaimed the new US President “Jesus” while another, Ben Ochieng, said Kenyans will get “food and jobs” from the new American administration.

This Kenyan hope stems from the fact that President Obama’s father just happends to be from Kenya. “It is right that when people get power they look after their family, so we know that Obama will build lots of good things for us, like schools and roads and clinics,” said Kenyan George Opiyo.

The Kenya National Theatre is honoring the new President with “Obama the Musical,” a theatre piece which parallels Obama’s autobiography “Dreams of My Father” with Biblical tales.

We send aid, especially through private organizations, which means food, water, medicines, money, etc. And what happens to it? The governments of many of those countries are so corrupt that they hijack what we individuals send to help with relief, cutting off the aid to those in need, letting in spoil, rot in warehouses or is sold on the black market. What is the percentage of aid that gets through? Anyone really know? There is so much corruption in third world countries – America cannot solve those issues. Genocide and ethnic cleansing (I guess one in the same) runs rampant. The “rich and the famous” want us to become involved. Sorry. We have done so much, even through Peace Corps only to witness very little positive outcomes. To me, much that has been done has been a failure.

It is about time America stops sending Africa money and let them stat to stand up for themselves. Its like a 40 year old child still living with mommy and daddy, he needs to move on some time or die. Let them fall into whatever they bring upon themselves, we are not to blame. It is as if America feels guilty for something they the blacks of Africa have brought upon themselves. Maybe once a mass starvation, ethnic cleanising or genocide occurs, then maybe, just maybe the Africans will come to their senses and do what is right. Untill then, America can keep sending billions of $ every year for the next 100 years and nothing will change. It will just help bankrupt America.

Sometimes the young bird needs to be pushed out of the nest, and if it flies great, if it falls to its death too bad, that is nature.
    Let nature take its course.
