Zuma To “Spill The Beans” On Mbeki And COPE

ANC leader Jacob Zuma is reportedly going to present evidence in his appeal to a damaging corruption case that show former South African president Thabo Mbeki and COPE leader Mosiuoa Patrick Lekota are more heavily involved in the affair.

Zuma and the ANC will make separate appeals to the National Prosecuting Authority. Zuma will argue that he is in fact a “small fry” in the case, had no criminal intent in accepting money from convicted fraudster Schabir Shaik, and prosecuting the case against him is “not in the public interest.”

The Mail & Guardian also reports that Zuma and the ANC contemplated a plea bargain, but now with the impending general elections, is “no longer an option.”

Somebody remind me quickly – since when does legal recourse in criminal law include the ability to prove other parties are “more guilty” than you? Does that make you a lesser criminal?

I think this clearly shows the mindset of these people.
