ABC News reported about a possible UFO flying over the skies of Salt Lake City, Utah, yet many have predicted such a device would be used by Homeland Security.
Despite the mysterious nature of the report produced by, as The Right Perspecitve’s Frank from Queens calls The Ministry of Lies, a DHS project involving blimps has been in the planning stages from several years now. In addition to being fodder for the bloggosphere, both MSNBC and Science Daily wrote articles on the plan back in 2005. The higly-respectable Endgadget also wrote about the project in 2007.
More conspiracy-minded folk point to Project Blue Beam, a four-part staged event to usher in a “New Age religion” which will be the “foundation of a one-world government”.
UPDATE: A reader says the device is a hyperblimp, which is billed on the company website as “whisper quiet”, “maneuverable as a hummingbird”, and can be used for, among other things, “unmanned airravel, research”, “monitoring”, and “surveillance”.

OK, so now I’ll trust TRP for my technology updates as well.
Just when you thought mainstream media could not get any more sensationalist than it already is, they produce something like this.
A real simple way to find out what it is or where it came from is to shoot it down. The police will surely let you know what it is then.
Shoot first, then ask questions. Guaranteed to get answers then. Has a heavy price tag though.
Definitely shoot it first, especially if you don’t know what it is. You’ll find out later when you get the “Electric Chair”
UFOLOGY is alot of nonsense! We interviewed Stanton Friedman, who is on every ufo program and made a complete fool out of him. This is a government program, and immediately the paranoids think, “conspiracy”! They love to use the term, “black ops” to sound like they’re in the know on inside information. What happens in the end always has a rational explanation. Reality is much, much, more interesting than someone’s fantasy!
man it’s funny how a little toy can make this much nonsense. I am out here in SLC utah and was going downtown and saw a glare out front and and above. it moved slow and it looked like it was far far away. i drove to it and a lot sooner than i thought it was right above me. it lost altatude and got stuck in a tree where me and a few other climbed and sit it loose. it was R/C about 6 feet long. a little blimp. i got a laugh and went on with my day. that night i saw it on the news. it was a project from the UofU but it got a lot of 911 calls it still makes me laugh b/c i would have thought it was a ufo or something too if i didn’t get stuck in the tree. your eye fool you i thought it was huge until it was in the tree and a lot closer than i had thought. too funny i will answer any q’s you have for me.
Ah, common……if this is a blimp, don’t you think the TV stations would know that before they embarrass themselves? After all, it’s hard enough to get the media to even discuss this topic without going to such elaborate lengths.
If it was a hoax, shame on those that would make folly of a subject that has been around for millenia? If and when they do arrive, for all those who do not believe, take the blinders off, and open your mind.
