Police in South Africa’s Eastern Cape have arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly murdering his mother with a spear.
The man came to the home of his 60-year old mother in Willowvale, Queenstown, Eastern Cape, looking for his sister whom he allegedly said he wanted to kill.
The mother told him that his sister had not yet come home, so the man went to a nearby bus stop to wait for her.
The mother followed her some and tried to reason with him, but he would not listen. She eventually asked him to kill her instead of her daughter. He obliged.
Officers believe the man is suffering from mental illness.
