Fred Thompson Enters Talk Radio

Law and Order actor turned conservative politician Fred Thompson has announced a new venture: talk radio.

The Fred Thomspon Show will replace of Bill O’Reilly’s Radio Factor. O’Reilly announced earlier this year he will be leaving talk radio to focus on his popular FOX News television show.

Thompson’s two-hour radio show will debut March 2. Although O’Reilly leaves some 425 affiliate stations with an open spot in their lineup, Thompson is not guaranteed to take all of them. FOX News commentator John Gibson is also launching a show Jan. 19 which will compete with Thompson for those affiliates.

Wow! If he burns up the radio air waves the same way he did the campaign trail, there will be sleeping drivers all over America.

I never got why everyone got all excited about this guy when he ran for president. There was all this excitement, and when he finally said he would run, it just all went downhill.

Fred Thompson has some good monologue videos up on YouTube but I don’t think he can fill 2 hours a day with compelling content.

I’m very sure he will have scriptwriters doing his monologues. But I think his foray into talk radio will wind up like his presidential bid.

425 affiliates but 400 of them are low powered AM stations. Most of them didn’t even play the show live.

There’s no guest tonight so you can call in after 10:30 – 718-761-9996. Are you going to call in?
