Zuma: No War On Zimbabwe

ANC leader Jacob Zuma has said he does not support military intervention to remove Marxist Dictator Robert Mugabe from his stranglehold on power in Zimbabwe.

“The African National Congress will not support military intervention in Zimbabwe because there is no war. The country’s leaders just need to be pressurised through talks on what should be done,” Zuma said in a radio interview that also saw him trade verbal blows with cartoonist Zapiro.

World and African leaders, including US President George W. Bush and Kenyan PM Raila Odinga, have called for the removal of Mugabe. The country is wracked by out-of-control inflation and a rampant cholera epidemic that has killed hundreds. Mugabe has declared that the cholera epidemic is over, and was started by “racist” Great Britain to control the country and its natural rescources.

“The ANC is not like Zanu PF,” Zuma said. “We do not accept that leaders put themselves first before the needs of the people.”
