First, Bill Clinton had Los Angeles street gang members marching in his inaugural parade. Now, an openly-gay pride band will march down Pennsylvania Avenue to honor the inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama as America’s 44th President.
The Lesbian and Gay Band Association (LGBA), has played “Gimmie Some Lovin” dressed as witches in the New York City Halloween Parade, and performed at the sex-crazed Southern Decadance “festival”, among other things.
In a press statement, president-elect Obama says he is “honored” and “proud” to invite an “openly LGBT” band to march in his inaugural day parade. “These organizations embody the best of our nation’s history, diversity and commitment to service. Vice President-elect Biden and I are proud to have them join us in the parade.”
The LGBA said on its website that its participation in the Presidential Inaugural will be “truly our chance to make history.” It will definitely make the occasion more… festive, that’s for sure.

This article isn't even good writing. Incidentally, just for the record, there were several different songs played in the Halloween Parade—Night on Bald Mountain (Moussorgsky) and Phantom of the Opera among them. It's interesting that you should choose to mention the one you did—-o yes, the dancers were male and female and the 250 performers were being led by banners and flags, not by the dancers. Facts, just give us the facts.
The touched up photograph of our president-elect is really tasteless, but what can you expect. I'm sure you don't have the intestinal fortitude to post either of my comments. I'll check later.
I think it's such a shame that the Halloween Parade didn't have better lighting. That band sounded great!

What I find utterly disgusting is that the political right accuses the mainstream media of taking a liberal bent on their articles while at the same time writing stuff like this that is not only misleading but takes an utterly exhaustive approach of attempting to connect a legitimate organization like LGBA with "sex-crazed" cultures which isn't even true. Writer, I suggest you contiue to review the LGBA website as well as all of the LGBA member bands' websites to understand the real positive impacts they have had on America's communities over the years. Then perhaps you might understand why President-Elect Obama has chosen this band to perform.

What has happened to the religious right's maxim of "love thy neighbor?" One can only hope that one day we can coexist with one another and be inclusive to all. LGBA symbolizes the hope that one day younger generations of gays, lesbians, etc. will be afforded the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts. This historic step in the LGBT movement is just one of many to come for the equality of all of our brothers and sisters.

Yes, we don't want a godless heathen like Obama, do we? No, we'd rather have an upstanding, god-fearing Christian like George W. Bush who sent thousands of American soldiers and tens of thousand of Iraqi civilians to their graves. He's a murderer, but because he opposes abortion, you love him to bits.

Susie has way too much time on her hands. She should put her rhetoric to good use and "love thy neighbor." I think a marching band, whether it is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, straight, religious, non-religious, or whatever is a positive addition to the inaugural parade or ANY parade, for that matter. Music brings people together. I agree with Russell, don't call us pedophiles. Do your research, look in your own backyard. Do you have children or grandchildren? Since homosexuality is not chosen but god given, you never know what type of tolerance you will need. Do not shun that which you do not know. Be tolerant and get a clue.
I don't even know where to start to ci=omment on this issue. I am deeply disturbed by the whole thing. First of all, I find myself somewhat offended by Obama's qoute about how "these organizations embody the best of our nations history, diversity, and commitment to service…" What exactly does that mean? To me it is an insult to people who don't happen to beleive taht homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle. I'm thinking if this is the "best" of nations anything hten we are in a sad state! Another thing that greives me is how the pro-gay people keep throwing up the whole "love your neighbor thing". I am a christian and I know alot of homosexual people. I treat them with kindness, and the same respect I would show anyone else. However, I do not believe that homosexuality is a God given thing or that it is an acceptavle lifestyle. That doesn't mean I don't love my neighbor. If you are going to qoute the Word, please do it the consideration of studying it first ans understanding what Jesus meant when He said it. There alot of scriptures in the same Bible that directly address homosexuality and God's feelings on the matter but I never see those quoted by those who are trying to bash Christians for their beliefs. I have more scriptural foundation for my beleifs on the issue than the homosexuals will ever be able to claim. It is because I "love my neighbor" that I hate to see them caught up in the deception of a lifestyle that God can't bless.
