Sources close to Barack Obama say the American President-elect will persue an ambitious Middle East peace plan that involves Arab countries recognizing Israel in exchange for the Jewish state moving back to its pre-1967 borders.
Oddly enough, the report comes from the UK’s Times Online, while is nowhere to be found in American mainstream media.
The plan’s origins go back to a 2002 Saudi peace initiative which gives Israel an effective veto on the return of Arab refugees expelled in 1948 while requiring it to restore the Golan Heights to Syria and allow the Palestinians to establish a state capital in east Jerusalem. The plan has been backed by the Arab League and Tzipi Livni, the Israeli foreign minister and leader of the ruling Kadima party. Obama has reportedly said that Israel would be “crazy” to refuse a deal that could “give them peace with the Muslim world”.
A bipartisan group of senior foreign policy advisers, including Zbigniew Brzezinski, Brent Scowcroft, and Lee Hamilton, have reportedly gotten behind the plan. Simon Peres has also endorsed the plan.

I don’t know about this… how could the Obama Administration pursue this policy, what with Rahm Emanuel is Chief of Staff and Hillary Clinton as SOS? Something is up… I know you’re quoting a legit source, I’m just saying something is weird about this whole thing…. not sure exactly what it is though.
