Gay Marriage Bans Pass In Florida, Arizona

While California passed Proposition 8, which amends its state constitution to define marriage as only between a man and a woman, similar propositions also passed in Arizona and Florida.

Arizona voters passed Proposition 102 by 57 – 43. The proposition was a stripped-down version of one rejected by voters two years ago, which simply states, “Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage.” While the state had already banned same-sex marriage in 1996, the proposition was considered vital to prevent activist judges from overturning the law.

Florida voters approved that state’s amendment by a landslide margin of 62 – 38. The Rev. Joel Hunter, an evangelical pastor in Florida, said many religious conservatives felt more urgency about stopping same-sex marriage than about abortion, which is considered by many to be in a stalemate. “There is enough of the population that is alarmed at the general breakdown of the family, that has been so inundated with images of homosexual relationships in all of the media,” said Rev. Hunter, who gave the benediction at the Democratic National Convention this year. “It’s almost like it’s obligatory these days to have a homosexual couple in every TV show or every movie.”

I don't understand why some states want the right to gay marriages. Wasn't marriage between a man & a woman meant to beget children(if possible) and increase the population on this earth?
. ISN'T THIS THE NATURAL LAW OF NATURE?
