Concerns of a civil war in South Africa between factions within the splintering ANC came to a new level after a leading member of the ANC Youth League publicly called for the killing of people opposed to the ANC.

The clip, aired on the SABC TV3 over the weekend, shows ANCYL Limpopo Chair Lehlogonolo Masoga saying, “You are the eyes and ears of the ANC… you are the foot soldiers of the ANC… you are the defenders of the revolution… You are the prosecutors of the revolution, and when they (the black opposition) arrive here, they must find you on guard… they must find you ready… AND YOU MUST KILL THEM!”

The ANCYL, known for declaring that they would kill for ANC leader Jacob Zuma, came under increasing suspicion after the discovery of “training camps” run by the group in Eshowe, Kwa-Zulu Natal were made public by the Freedom Front Plus.
