A female McCain supporter who claimed to have had the letter “B” carved into the side of her face by an Obama supporter during a mugging made the whole thing up, police say. Speculation indicates the hoax may have been part of a plot to discredit McCain supporters.
Pittsburgh Police became suspicious after inconsistencies came up in the story of 20-year old Ashley Todd, who works on the McCain campaign, combined with a lack of photographic evidence from ATM security cameras at the crime scene. Todd later confessed to police after questioning.
Suspicion has come up that Todd may be a member of Anonymous, a disparate group of hackers who infamously hacked into Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin’s e-mail account last month. Members are known to post pictures of themselves with the letter “b” in the picture, indicating membership in a group known as “b-tards“. Although known more for their Internet pranks and attacks, their pranks have ventured into the real world at times, resulting in arrests and massive press. Police have focused on Todd’s mental health yet have not ruled out ulterior motives in the case.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So you are trying to say that this disgusting attempt to slime Obama isn't the fault of the LYING MCCAIN SUPPORTER?! hahaaaaa! You all are funny! I gotta show my friends this stuff you wrote: "Suspicion has come up that Todd may be a member of Anonymous". Oh I see, that's a real possibilty because they also use the letter B…hahaaaaa! man oh man…Yeah, we gotta find any group that may be associated with the letter B, they all are possibly at fault! It definitely wouldn't be logical to assume that it had anything to do with the fact that she was a devoted member of the COLLEGE REPUBLICANS that was traveling CROSS-COUNTRY to support Mccain, right? hahaaaaa! y'all are too much!
Hahaha. A girl who's been campaigning with the College Republicans for months is actually a Democrat double-agent. What will you silly Republicans think of next.
The idea that McCain supporters are without sin is the dumbest thing I've heard since learning of this story.
Why are people still ignorant about everything that happens on the internet? When will people realize that Anonymous isn’t a hacking group?
What is Anonymous:
Anonymous is a word. It’s not a hacking group. There is no ‘hacking’ group called Anonymous. It never existed and it probably never will.
What is /b/?:
/b/ is a board. /b/ is the board for Random on the worlds most popular imageboard. People who post on this imageboard are Anonymous. Being anonymous only means no username. It doesn’t mean it’s a group. Please understand this as it makes you stupid when you treat a word as a hacking group.
I’d now like to address this Palin email hacking issue. Palins email address was indeed intruded by a user of /b/. Users of /b/ are commonly called /b/tards, NOT -b-tards. Being a /b/tard only means you’re lonely enough to visit /b/. It doesn’t mean you’re part of this group that doesn’t exist.
Her email was hacked because some college student was board and Yahoo’s security sucks. There was no hacking involved, just some research. This person got some public information, calmly went on Yahoo, and obtained her password by using Yahoo’s very own system.
Palin’s email address was hacked by a person, not by a member of a group that doesn’t exist.
It’s true that /b/tards do pranks. They do a lot of them to be honest. It’s quite rare not to see some raid going down on /b/. /b/ is like a board where you can do anything.
I’d like to repeat again that ANONYMOUS is a WORD. Anonymous is NOT a hacking group. /b/ IS AN IMAGEBOARD. IT’S /b/tard NOT -b-tard.
Of course a big B was for /b/ and not Barack (which she was trying to blame in the first place)….
What kind of news is this?
