Sliwa Readies For The Battle Of York

Degenerate liar Curtis Sliwa, whose never-ending chain of Guardian Angels franchises never seem to take off, has announced the opening of a new franchise in York, PA.

Ten men and women will begin patrolling as Guardian Angels in “a few hot spots” around town on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Members of the York County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Response Unit will be patrolling with the Guardian Angels.

York Mayor John Brenner has wavered support of the group due to uncertainties over liability concerns. Guardian Angels spokesman Scott Koppenhofer said liabilities are not a problem, although “anybody can sue anybody if they wanted to.” Members must sign waivers releasing the nonprofit from responsibility.

Charlotte Raup, president of the Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch Coalition, said she hasn’t really noticed a difference in crime since the Angels opened a franchise there last May. Kathy Kane, Wilkes-Barre city council chairwoman, said the city is supportive, but she’s not sure if the Angels have been effective.
