Obama’s lead in the Gallup daily tracking poll, which recently had him ahead by 11 points, narrowed to 6 points on Thursday.
Gallup shows Mcain’s leading increasing in the days leading up to Wednesday’s debate.
And more good news for McCain: Gallup’s “traditional” likely voter model, which factors in prior voting behavior as well as current voting intention, shows Obama with only a two-point margin over McCain, making the race a statistical dead heat.
