Cuba Soccer Players May Have Defected

Pedro Faife and Reynier Alcantara, who play on Cuba’s national soccer team, have gone “missing” while competing for a World Cup qualifying match in Washington, DC. Rumors say the two have defected to the United States.

Despite a recent thawing of its die-hard Communist policies, Cuban nationals are still defecting to the US whenever they get the chance.

The incident follows a March defection of five players from the Cuban soccer team.

UPDATE: In a whiny statement blasting the players, Cuba has confirmed their defection to the United States.
