An anonymous Federal Elections Commison auditor’s call for an investigation into possibly illegal foreign donations to the presidential campaign of Senator Barack Hussein Obama has yeilded several interesting leads, and calls from the GOP for further investigation.
Newsweek has uncovered two donors, “Doodad Pro” and “Good Will”, who made Internet donations to the Obama campaign totaling more than $11,000 in increments of $10 and $25. Other news reports suggest that about 11,500 possible foreign donors, have given $34 million to the Obama campaign. It is illegal for foreign citizens to contribute to American political campaigns.
A new CBS investigation has uncovered even more Obama donation shenanigans. Dahsudhu Hdusahfd of Df, Hawaii with an employer named CZXVC/ZXVZXV, and Uadhshgu Hduadh listed as having a home in Dhff, Florida and the employer DASADA/SAFASF donated $7,772 to the Obama campaign. FEC records show the Obama campaign recieved the donations on July 16, 2008 and began refunding them on August 6, 2008.
These donation revelations have prompted Republicans to call for further investigation. “It seems to the RNC that the Obama campaign knew they were excessive,” RNC chief counsel Sean Cairncross said . “Yet they appear to have taken no action on their own.”
In responding to the CBS News report, Obama spokesperson Bill Burton wrote, “We constantly review our donors for any issues and while no organization is completely protected from internet fraud, we will continue to review our fundraising procedures to ensure that we are taking every available step to root-out improper contributions”.
