Debate #1: McCain On Points

Last night’s first US Presidential debate ended with Republican John McCain winning a technical win on points against his Democrat Party foe, Barack Obama.

The consensus of the MainStream Media was best echoed by CNN, which said that “neither delivered a knockout blow” and the matchup was “probably a draw”. Politico.com said McCain “gave one of his strongest debate performances ever” and showed himself to be “emphatic, impassioned, even indignant leader with a more seasoned and more visceral understanding of a cynical capital and a violent planet.“.

Obama admitted many times throughout the debate that John McCain was right on the issues, a point that infuriated Left-leaning commentator Chris Matthews to the point that he compared the Obama’s debate performance to that of Richard Nixon during his debate against JFK. This point has been quickly picked up upon by the McCain campaign:

In addition to repeating his trademark “uhh” through the debate, Obama was unable to remember the name of the fallen soldier who bracelet he wears during the campaign:

Meanwhile, McCain seemed more knowledge about the issues and brought out his agenda in clearer manner than Obama:
