People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is urging ice cream makers Ben & Jerry to use human milk instead of cow milk in their product.
The revolting notion “would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health,” PETA said in a press release. They also note that a Swiss resturanteur has recently announce he will be using human milk in 75% of the food he serves.
In a statement Ben and Jerry’s said, “We applaud PETA’s novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother’s milk is best used for her child.”
