Charlie Rangel’s Mercedez Blues

The ongoing House Ethics Committee investigation of Charlie Rangel has unveiled a new problem in the form of an old car for the Democrat Party congressman.

Rangel apparently has a 1972 silver Mercedez-Benz in the House of Representatives parking garage. It has been parked there for several years, a violation of House rules. It’s also near a prime spot near the elevators, with no license plates and a tarp covering to protect it from the elements.

Sources indicate Rangel owes about $5000 for use of the storage space, and his abuse of the garage brings further question the ethics the veteran Harlem Democrat, who is chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee.
